"My style is all over the place."
Can you relate to this feeling? A lot of people do because they all began the same way…looking around, trying to create a logo, business card, or website that sort of fits their taste. But if you noticed, we don't even get to appearance until week two.
Here's why…
You have to begin with your identity before you can get a consistent, accurate style.
So many creatives will try to "find" their brand by looking at what others are doing. They think, "I like so and so's style and I can see that it works for them, so it will probably work for me too."
And soon they end up with a business that is nice but it also looks like a mix and match of everyone else. It doesn't define their dream or feel genuine or unique.
You won't find your brand in anyone else's business.
Your brand identity is you - who you are and what you do differently.
So step one is to get really clear on your identity.
That's the only way to get your style just right.
Who are you?
What do you do and how do you do it?
If I'm your client, why would I want to work with you over your competitors?
What's special about the way you do things?
Don't skip over these questions because they are going to define every single move you make from here on out.
Once you have your identity, you have a doorway to your style.
And you can use that style to get clients to come to you.
And not just any clients. Your dream clients.
The type of people you LOVE to work with and the type of people who will LOVE to work with you.
Alright so let's identify WHO YOU ARE.
You can download this simple worksheet to help you sort it all out.
