Okay, let’s talk branding for a second.
Basically the term "branding" just means to leave your mark.
More than just a logo, your brand includes everything that leaves an impression on your clients or followers.
So the approach you take, the way you market yourself, your attitude in the office, your response to emails, the colors you paint on the wall, the design of your blog, etc. - all of it says something about you and what working with you is like. It leaves a mark.
Within 30 seconds, most people are going to decide whether or not they should work with you.
When we work on branding this month, we're going to work on building a solid foundation. We're going to take a peek into all of the areas of your business and talk about how they can be improved for the good of you and your clients.
After all, if you represent yourself in a way that's not accurate, you will either be trying to be something you're not or you'll attract the wrong type of clients. Most likely, you will not be in line with their expectations.
When you brand yourself accurately, all of a sudden clients will start coming to you.
And not just any clients - the type of clients who you love to work with. These are also people who will be willing to pay any price because they think you're worth it. As a bonus, you can cut down on your advertising costs because your clients will spread the word for you. You won't waste time and money marketing to the wrong crowd.
All you have to do is find out where you excel and present it well.
Our goal is to attract the type of clients who see your work and say, "Wow! This is exactly what I was looking for!"
You want to attract clients so in love with your work that they won't want to work with anyone else. And like I said before, they will pay the price you deserve and spread the word for you. It is possible to do what you love and get paid for doing it.
So here's your homework for today...
*If you have a business/blog/organization
Set aside 15 minutes and be honest about what isn't working. What feels forced? What is not quite the way you instinctively think things "should" be done? Where are you just following someone else's blueprint and not being true to your strengths? Write it down and later this month we'll discuss how to make improvements.
*If you are just getting started
Set aside 15 minutes and write down all of your influences and why you like following them. What can you learn about the way they brand themselves?
